Su experiencia profesional se ha desarrollado en Nueva York, La Habana, Milán y Bogotá, donde se ha desempeñado como asistente de dirección, director de fotografía, director y productor.
Es Productor de la serie Los caballeros las prefieren brutas de Sony Pictures Television que se encuentra actualmente en preproducción de la segunda temporada.
También es productor general de los largometrajes Bluff y Sanandresito y productor ejecutivo del largometraje La sociedad del semáforo.
Es director de fotografía de los largometrajes Bluff y La esquina.
Actualmente dirige el largometraje documental ¿Qué hay para la cabeza?, sobre la legalización de la droga.
Ha realizado varios cortometrajes. Ha sido director y director de fotografía de innumerables comerciales para televisión.

Violeta Bava nació en Buenos Aires, donde estudió teatro con destacados maestros; en 2002 se licenció en Artes en la Facultad de Filosofía y Letras, Universidad de Buenos Aires (UBA), con especialidad en teoría, estética e historia del cine y del teatro.
Trabaja en el área artística del Buenos Aires Festival Internacional de Cine Independiente (BAFICI) desde su primera edición, en 1999. Actualmente se desempeña como programadora de dicho festival y es codirectora del Buenos Aires Lab (BAL), laboratorio y mercado de coproducción de proyectos latinoamericanos de cine independiente.
Es cofundadora de Ruda Cine, una compañía productora creada en 2004, especializada en cine de autor y documentales creativos que tiene base en Buenos Aires. Entre otros filmes, Ruda Cine ha producido el documental Copacabana, del director argentino Martín Rejtman y Entrenamiento elemental para actores, de los directores Martín Reitman y Federico León.

Desde 2002 dicta clases en el Centro de Investigación Cinematográfica (Buenos Aires), ha llevado adelante diversos talleres de análisis de películas; en los últimos años ha participado en múltiples foros y workshops internacionales relacionados con el desarrollo del cine latinoamericano y ha sido jurado de numerosos festivales. En la actualidad es parte del Advisory Board de Torino Film Lab, del Festival Internacional de Cine de Turín, y asesora al festival de Bratislava en su programación.

Violeta Bava was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina, were she studied drama with various remarkable teachers; in 2002 she received a double degree in Theory, Aesthetics and History of Cinema and Drama at Buenos Aires University (UBA).
She has worked at the artistic area of Buenos Aires International Independent Film Festival (BAFICI) since its first edition. Currently she is Programmer of the Festival and the Co-director of the Buenos Aires Laboratory (BAL), a laboratory and co-production market for Latin American independent film projects.
She is co-founder of Ruda Cine, a Film Production Company focus on Latin American Independent Cinema. Among other films, Ruda has produced the documentary film Copacabana, by the Argentinean filmmaker Martin Rejtman and Entrenamiento elemental para actores, by Martín Rejtman and Federico León.

Since 2002 she teaches at the Centro de Investigación Cinematográfica (Buenos Aires), she has taught several workshops and in the last years she has participated in many international meetings and workshops regarding Latin American film development and has been jury in many festivals. Currently, she is member of the Advisory Board of the Torino Film Lab, of the International Film Festival of Turin, and program adviser of the Bratislava Film Festival.

Es uno de los miembros fundadores (1994) y Presidente de la AFDA, la escuela de cine, televisión y actuación más importante de Sudáfrica. Con una formación bastante heterogénea en educación y entretenimiento, en los últimos treinta años se ha desempeñado en diferentes áreas como profesor, restaurador, dramaturgo, productor y director de arte. Actualmente es miembro ejecutivo de CILECT.

He is one of the founding members (1994) and the Chairman of AFDA, South Africa’s leading Film, Television and Screen acting school.  He has a fairly diverse background in education and entertainment and has had various careers over the last thirty years which include careers as a Teacher, Restaurateur, Playwright, Producer and Production Design.  He is currently a member of the CILECT executive.

Nació en Buenos Aires en 1971.
Recibió una beca para cursar la carrera de Dirección en la Universidad del Cine. Realizó paralelamente estudios de Fotografía, Guión, Historia del Arte y Dramaturgia.

Solo por hoy (2001), su primera película obtuvo el apoyo de la Hubert Bals Fund, Rotterdam, Holanda y fue producida por la Universidad del Cine – FUC.
La presentación de la película tuvo lugar en la Selección Oficial del  Festival de Berlín 2001, Panorama. La película obtuvo luego 15 premios internacionales, incluyendo:
Mejor Película, Infinity Film Festival, Turín, Italia.
Mejor Película, Festival de Cine Inédito, España.
Mejor Película, Festival Internacional de Bogotá. Colombia.
Premio del Jurado, Focus op het Zuiden, Bélgica.
Premio del Publico, Toulouse. Francia.
Premio Especial del Jurado, Friburgo, Suiza.
Mejor Dirección de Arte, La Habana, Cuba.

El otro (2007), su segundo largometraje, fue Producido por Airecine y Aquafilms, en coproducción con Celluloid Dreams (Francia) y Selavy Filmproduktion (Alemania). Contó con el apoyo de la Universidad del Cine.
El proyecto ganó el Concurso Nacional para primeras y segundas películas del INCAA (Argentina). Además del apoyo de: Hubert Bals Fund (Holanda), World Cinema Fund  (Alemania), Fonds Sud Cinema, CNC, (Francia) y Vision Sud Est (Suiza).
El otro se presentó en la Competencia Oficial del Festival de Berlín 2007. Oso de Plata Gran Premio del Jurado  y el Oso de Plata al Mejor Actor. Obtuvo luego mas de 21 Premios Internacionales, incluyendo:

Solo por hoy (2001), his first film, was supported by Hubert Bals Fund, Rotterdam, and produced by the Universidad del Cine. First screened at the Official Section of the Berlin Film Festival 2001, the film later received 15 international awards including:

Programadora de Cine y Consultora de Medios y Marketing. En la actualidad es consultora de medios y jefe de prensa para organizaciones culturales y artísticas en Estados Unidos como Celebrate Mexico Now y Latino Cultural Festival de Queens Theatre in the Park; especializándose en cine, literatura y música. Como programadora de cine realiza, desde hace 11 años, el Havana Film Festival New York y es además, directora y fundadora de CortoCircuito, un festival de cortos latinos que se lleva a cabo anualmente, desde hace siete años, en NYU (New York University). Ha sido parte del equipo de Cinema Tropical, una organización dedicada a la distribución y promoción del cine latino en Estados Unidos, y de LART (Latino Artists Round Table).  Es también productora y coordinadora de medios de Nueva York, programa de televisión de CUNY-TV, con el cual ha ganado dos Emmy consecutivos. Trabajó en la dirección general del espacio documental “Rostros y Rastros”; programa semanal de televisión, ganador de premios internacionales. Como periodista ha escrito para publicaciones como Hoy (NY), El Puente Latino, Kinetoscopio (Colombia) y La Opinión (Los Ángeles).

Film Programmer and Media Consultant. Diana works in the publicity and promotion of cultural events in New York City, specializing in film and music festivals such as Latino Cultural Festival of Queens Theatre in the Park and Celebrate Mexico Now Festival. She is an integral member of the selection and programming committees for the Havana Film Festival in New York and CortoCircuito/ShortCuts Latino Short Film Festival of New York. She is also a producer and media liaison with the CUNY-TV series Nueva York for which she has received two consecutive Emmys. Diana has also been part of the Cinema Tropical team, an organization dedicated to distributing and promoting Latino films in the United States, and LART (Latino Artists Round Table). She received several international awards for the documentary series Rostros y Rastros. As a journalist she has published in newspapers and magazines including Hoy (New York City), El Puente Latino, Kinetoscopio (Colombia) and La Opinión (Los Angeles).
